The STAR Center is looking for a passionate Music Therapist to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals we serve through the transformative power of music.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individual and group music therapy programs addressing behavioral, emotional, cognitive, musical, social, creative, communication, and physical goals. Services are provided on- and off-site and include research services as requested.

• Document client progress after each session in accordance with departmental procedures.

• Follow up with individuals as needed, including participation in team meetings and other correspondence.

• Conduct evaluations and screenings of individuals served by the STAR Center and write corresponding reports.

• Support the Music Therapy Department with innovative ideas and creative solutions, and serve as a role model for student interns.

• Participate in promoting awareness of the music therapy profession and The STAR Center to outside agencies and the community.

• Provide consultative support for staff of partner agencies serving individuals.

• Provide clinical supervision of student interns according to established procedures.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy from an approved and/or accredited training program and meet all appropriate professional standards of the field. Applicants must be certified by the Certification Board for Music Therapy (MT-BC) or be eligible for certification.
