Sensory Friendly Trunk or Treat - STAR Center

Sensory Friendly Trunk or Treat

Well, this is Halloween week can you believe it?

It’s finally here it feels like that between Halloween and the first year must have been at least 10 years. This Halloween is going to be different but many Halloweens have been different for many children across our community every year. And so, what we have been able to do through a specific grant-funded program is offer sensory-friendly opportunities for those with disabilities to participate in things like Halloween.

Now many of you are thinking oh gosh COVID all that absolutely all of the protocols are going to be followed but this Thursday night we’re having a
sensory-friendly trunk or treat in the back parking lot of The Star Center. It’s from five o’clock until seven
o’clock. We’ve got local businesses that are participating.

We’re gonna have team members that’ll have trunks there we just want to make sure that the childhood tradition of trick-or-treating is made available to all. And so we want you to come bring your kiddos bring your
Grandkids.

This is going to be a great time and we’re just going to celebrate asking for candy. I mean how did does it get any better than that?

It’s a, it’s, I mean if I could figure out how to dress up and pass off as a child I think I would.

Because I love candy we are continuing to lean into the places where there are gaps and fill those and it’s only because of this community
that we’re able to do it.

This is just another one of those examples. So this Thursday night five o’clock at The STAR Center is a sensory-friendly trick or treat,

Make sure you stop by and join us. Have a great week!
